Mahi Fishing In Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

***Full report available at http://myfishingcapecod.com

This November my wife Lauren and I are staying in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where I will be working and fishing for mahi mahi and whatever else I can find. In this video we are fishing on a local panga boat, in the Los Arcos area of Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta, for mahi mahi (also called dorado or dolphinfish).

One major benefit of the internet is that it allows me to carryon my day-to-day business activities from anywhere in the world without issue. In fact I sometimes find it easier to work abroad than at home, and my productivity will oftentimes increase. For the next couple of weeks I will be blogging from Mexico, where it is currently 80 degrees, sunny and flat calm.

Video timestamps:

0:01 – departing from the Los Muertos pier
1:21 – rigging a skirted Goggle eye for trolling
3:51 – chatting with captain Juan Santana from http://vikingocharters.com/
4:40 – first fish, skipjack tuna
7:38 – second fish, small skipjack tuna
8:17 – rigging small skipjack for marlin trolling
10:51 – hooked up with mahi mahi (dorado)
13:52 – mahi in the boat, kicks captain Juan in the ear!
17:19 – filleting the mahi
