Puerto Vallarta was our first time checking out what the west coast of Mexico has to offer. We spent a few perfect days in Puerto Vallarta and had a blast! Check out how we spent the day doing some of our favorite activities – eating, drinking and sailing!

Canopy River Puente Jorullo Cascada El Salto / Jorullo Bridge El Salto W…

One of the most recent additions is Jorullo Bridge (Puente Jorullo), which is part of Canopy River’s activities and tours. They are an ecotourism resort 3 miles (15-20 minutes) outside Puerto Vallarta, offering many adventures that at the same time take care of the environment and natural resources that make PV a world-class tourist destination.
Jorullo Bridge is actually the longest suspension bridge in the world for vehicles, as mentioned, quite close to Puerto Vallarta in the Sierra Madre Occidental over the Cuale River, the same one that further downstream goes through the middle of the city. This large hanging structure was built in the course of 18 months in the Ejido El Jorullo, they started it off in November 2015. It’s 1550 ft long (470 meters) and hangs almost 500 ft (150 meters) above the Cuale River. When you cross, you are treated to some very spectacular panoramic views of the mountains, the valley below, and the river.
Join me as I explore the Puerto Vallarta Malecon – a 2.5 mile stretch of shops, eateries, bars and entertainment areas, laden along the way with artwork, live music, street performances and plazas.
The crowned church. Crystal blue waters. Towering statues. Aerobatic performances. Authentic Mexican food. Exciting nightlife. These are just a few of the countless treasures that make the Malecon of Puerto Vallarta one of the necessary places to visit during your vacation in Puerto Vallarta. It’s the place to explore, snap some pictures, try the food, and fall in love with downtown Puerto Vallarta.
As the city grew in the 1900s, the Malecon became the heart of downtown Puerto Vallarta, right in front of the central church, which is surrounded by small shops and family-run businesses. While it started as the a short boardwalk on the side of the road along the ocean, it’s become a major pathway and the best place to walk in Puerto Vallarta to see the traditional architecture and mingle with locals who enjoy the festive air of the Malecon. Today, it’s always cited by guidebooks and locals as one of the places to visit during your vacation in Puerto Vallarta.
