? Who are we?

After having several caffeine induced conversations about how people should travel more and shift their priorities in a way that will lead to a more fulfilling life, we decided to share our stories with you.
Our purpose in creating Kinetic Kennons is to share our stories of travels, adventures, and funny mishaps and to inspire others to design a life full of exploration. Throughout this site you will find posts about how to go on a cheap weekend trip, funny stories such as the time Hillary forgot to update her passport before an international trip, and inspirational rants on why you should lead a more adventurous life!

Rant of the day:

How hot is low season in Puerto Vallarta?

The average high temperature in Puerto Vallarta from the months of May to August is 91 degrees. Now that doesn’t sound too bad, right? The only problem is that the average humidity level during this same time is 90%!

Let’s just say that it gets sticky!

The main thing about low season in Puerto Vallarta is that it can be difficult to “escape” the heat. Most smaller stores and restaurants here do not have A/C and if you are like us and don’t have a car, you will be walking everywhere you go. It’s less about it being CRAZY hot and more about an increased exposure time to pretty warm/hot temperatures. During low season we just make sure to drink plenty of water and always carry about a small towel that we can use to wipe the sweat off our foreheads. Don’t worry, we don’t share towels!

If you are coming to Puerto Vallarta during the summer time, it is likely that you are coming from somewhere in the U.S. that is quite warm as well, so going to a place that is warm but has a beach is just a bonus! However, if you are thinking of moving to Puerto Vallarta permanently we highly suggest staying in town for a month or so during a low season so that you can really experience what is like.

The upside to the warm temperature during low season is that the big tourism boom has died down and the city feels way less busy. Another great thing about low season in Puerto Vallarta is the afternoon thunderstorms! We love sitting on our balcony and watching them come in from the sea!
